You want the epitome of garbage human on the radio, you are not going to find it on anyone polluting the airwaves today. See, the talk-shit hosts in this day and age are generally seen as laughing stocks and get the piss taken out of them so much on social media, that they only do this to make whatever cash they can generate being a scumbag. But there was a time when the crap they can only grift with today was mainstream and had real relevance. That is the world Bob Grant lived in, and he is one of the reasons why talk radio is to this day a insufferable cesspool. But even in that world Grant could not avoid a comeuppance and by the time of his death in 2013 he was pretty much a broken man, still talking shit, but not with as many people caring. And that was a good thing considering all the people he hurt with his BS. This dude right here was indeed the aforementioned epitome of garbage human on the radio<br />
<br />
Grant until his retirement in January 2006 used to broadcast from New York radio stations 77 WABC and WOR-AM and was syndicated nationwide. He was probably the most racist mainstream radio personality going. He was also a perfect example of how the right reacts when the rest of the world tells them they can go to hell. Bob Grant once served notice on the country, saying that America will not survive if it does not maintain its “humane, west European culture.” And he spent his last days on Earth fighting a futile fight against that.<br />
<br />
Wikipedia notes that Bob Grant, born Ciro Girgente in 1924, graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in journalism and began working in radio in the 1940s at the news department at WBBM in Chicago, as a radio personality and television talk show host at KNX in Los Angeles, and as an actor. He later became sports director at KABC in Los Angeles, where after some substitute appearances he inherited the talk show from early radio host Joe Pyne in 1964. In 1970, Grant landed in New York where he hosted a talk show on WMCA as the “house conservative”, staying there for seven years before going to other stations in the area. In 1984, he began his tenure at 77 WABC. It was this era that he is best known for, the era that pretty much cemented his reputation as what National Vanguard founder and convicted collector of child porn Kevin Alfred Strom regarded in 1996 “the only mainstream talk-radio host who, at least occasionally, speaks the truth on racial matters.”<br />
<br />
And what might those truths be to a white supremacist like Strom? Well, among Grant’s more notable remarks were on how American Indians “should consider themselves lucky that America let them survive,” one in which he hopes George Halliday, the late Rodney King videographer, “gets what’s coming to him” after the 1992 LA uprising, how Martin Luther King, Jr. was a scumbag (he attacked King regularly) and saying he was being a pessimist in thinking Commerce Secretary Ron Brown was the only survivor in the plane crash that took his life. That last comment in 1996 cost him his job at WABC after a barrage of complaints (Former NY Governor Mario Cuomo was especially pissed since he and Ron Brown was very close), but he went to WOR soon after. This is the move that launched Sean Hannity, who replaced Grant in his time slot. Hannity considers Grant a “mentor” and has even had him on his television show, two of those times – interestingly enough – on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.<br />
<br />
He has a few other notable actions on the air too. One of them was promoting his so-called “Bob Grant Mandatory Sterilization Program,” which he described as temporary sterilizations for women of childbearing age who wish to receive welfare payments. This is similar to a position that white supremacist Jared Taylor promoted in his 1992 book Paved With Good Intentions, a book that Taylor’s publishers credited Grant for promoting and helping them sell (see audio in sidebar). And let’s not let that go without noting other times Grant has either promoted or helped to promote also white supremacist groups allowing them to give their contact information over his airwaves. He even had a rather chummy conversation with White Aryan Resistance leader Tom Metzger about the anti-immigrant Prop. 187 in California. Members of the National Alliance were regular callers to his program and the group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) noted that on March 27, 1995 a caller recommended the National Alliance as a group “for support of European-American males.” Grant declared twice: “I don’t have any problem with the National Alliance!” Grant apparently grew to be afraid of the heat however. When a caller called in on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in 2005, he prattled on for a few minutes about how much he hates the holiday, how much he hates King, how insecure blacks are, etc., but as soon as he said, “My group, the National Alliance,” Grant laughed nervously and cut him off saying he had to go to news.<br />
<br />
On April 19, 1995, as people were tuned in to hear about the Oklahoma City bombing, Grant agitated around the notion that Arabs were responsible. As it started to surface that the suspects were white, he suggested that either the suspect was a white looking Arab or a white person duped by Arabs. Then, after a right-wing militia aficionado named Tim McVeigh was arrested (you know, the guy who was inspired by the white supremacist novel The Turner Diaries, written by National Alliance founder William Pierce) he had the audacity to attack President Clinton for charging talk radio in a speech for creating the atmosphere that gave us the bombing, even though Clinton never mentioned talk radio.<br />
<br />
The incident that truly shows how much of a problem he was occurred on December 12, 1996, when Grant attacked the Asian Indian community in Iselin, NJ as a people who “…live in curry, cook in curry, bathe in curry…” spending his four-hour program attacking the immigration policy. The next day swastikas were drawn on Indian homes there and one Indian store had its windows shot out. Grant and his handlers insist there is no connection, but many disagreed. <br />
<br />
Grant toned down the racist crap for a while, but as it became more and more apparent that no one was listening to his show anymore, it started creeping back. On June 10, 2004 he began his radio show defending washed up sixties “sex kitten” Brigitte Bardot, when the actress was convicted in Paris the day before of inciting racial hatred in a book where she attacked what she called the “Islamization of France”, inter-racial marriage and homosexuals, Her publisher was ordered to pay $5,000, making this the fourth such fine for her since 1997. This was a problem for Grant who declared that he opposed the “Islamization of America” as well. “Look, you yourself – and I presume most of you are not Arabic, Islamic – I think your background might be similar to mine,” he said. “And therefore why in heaven’s name would you want to see your culture, your religion, your ethnic roots buried by a group of people who in many, many ways represent (a different) position from ours?”<br />
<br />
On this radio show, Grant also defended disgraced New York Police Officer Justin Volpe, who he said received an “incredibly harsh sentence” – two consecutive 15-year terms – after he pled guilty of brutalizing and sodomizing Haitian immigrant Abner Louima with a toilet plunger. Currently serving his time in a federal penitentiary in Minnesota, Grant felt that he needed to relay the softer side of Volpe, how he has taken up painting and writes poetry. He also decided to rant about what he felt was a bad deal given him. “Now if you want to talk about injustice, Volpe getting two consecutive 15-year terms is an example. And the only reason he got that kind of harsh sentence was because people are afraid of the minority community. And when the government acts out of fear and not motivated by justice, then that represents the beginning of the end of that society.” Again, Volpe pled guilty, which would suggest even he admitted he committed a crime, and Grant didn’t seem to care, and we would like to thank him for reminding us just what it was that made him an idiot.<br />
<br />
That and other things reminded a lot of other people too. Soon, Grant started to get called out more. He began to see protest after protest, and in 2008, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the trade publication Radio & Records was revoked after a spark of outrage. That generated an outcry from the talk-shit hosts he inspired, like Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Neil Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, and others who have themselves been called on the carpet for their own racist stunts. Later that year, an evening show he had on 77 WABC (yeah, after he retired from WOR they brought him back) was cancelled, but then the announcement that he was coming back in September 2009 came out, prompting New York Daily News columnist Errol Louis to cry foul, taking note of other radio personalities who at the time were not given the kind of leeway that Grant was getting:<br />

DJ Star was arrested for bawdy talk about sexually assaulting <br />
a child. He, too, is now off the air.<br />
<br />
And Don Imus got the boot after calling black college students <br />
“nappy headed ho’s,” although he later found a home at – where <br />
else? – WABC. Or, as I call them, W-“hate”-B-C.”<br />
<br />
Of course, Louis got a lot of flack from that, but c’mon. It came from this crowd who try to pretend that Bob Grant and other conservatives aren’t the racist scumbags that they are, thinking that all they have to do is get loud and angry to make the charges go away. But it didn’t work. This is who those who know and remember Bob Grant know him as, and that was the reputation he left this earth with and he helped us start 2014 right by dying on New Year’s Eve 2013. Like Errol Louis said, times have changed from the days when he could get away with this. Today, we are dealing with the also-rans, but we are in a position to deal with them effectively. That is probably why you don’t hear too many people bringing up Bob Grant these days despite how much he contributed to the hate machine talk radio is. Of course, if you run across one of these characters defending him, don’t simply chalk it up to a case of denial. When Heather MacDonald was on a call-in program on C-SPAN during the Book Expo in Los Angeles in 2003, one caller, a black man from Houston, had a particular problem with her. “Every time I see this young lady on television she always talks about black people and the privileges we get, and I’m wondering what is her agenda,” he said. “Where does that contempt for black people come from?” That question was a long time coming. Heather MacDonald is best – some would argue only – known as a protagonist writer against people of color and an advocate for the dissolution of civil rights. <br />
<br />
She is a mainstream conservative however, so this characterization might be contested by her. In fact she will definitely tell you that her efforts are done in the interest of preserving our freedoms. Of course, that is like when conservatives fought the civil rights movement and the anti-apartheid efforts in South Africa in the name of fighting communism. In other words, it’s a crock of shit. <br />
<br />
Besides Donald Trump going to the White House, in the past twenty years there has been no greater success story for racists than their ascension in New York City politics – ironically Trump’s hometown. During that time conservatives used every opportunity to diminish the strength of people of color in the Big Apple, and to a great deal they succeeded back then. Trump’s personal attorney Rudolph Giuliani became mayor due to his courting these racist elements and after using them to defeat the first Black mayor in New York’s history spent his tenure directly engaged in a war with African Americans. Then there was a white supremacist named Frank Borzolierri who sat on a school board in Queens, a school board that once helped oust the Hispanic schools chancellor Jose Fernandez because of him including a curriculum that teaches tolerance of the LGBTQ community. The New York Post has used its pages to race-bait, featuring articles and columns by writers that were also found in white supremacist publications like American Renaissance. 77 WABC has also been a part of the hatemongering, with their roster including the late, unlamented Bob Grant, who had even allowed white supremacist groups to leave their contact information on the air, and Sean Hannity who once promoted a bid for Congress by his friend, neo-Nazi FBI informant Hal Turner. <br />
<br />
While the black/white war in NYC wasn’t one-sided, it most certainly was a boon for the right-wingers who have been trying to find new ways to undercut the African American community across the country. A non-practicing lawyer fresh from stints at the EPA and as a clerk for a Judge Stephen Reinhardt in California, Heather MacDonald moved to the city from Los Angeles in 1987 and jumped into the racial tensions going on there at the time. She found herself at a conservative think tank called the Manhattan Institute (MI) This lovely place was founded by former CIA director William Casey and in the past was funded by far right eugenics advocates such as the Pioneer Fund and others, many of those other backers also backing Hitler’s rise to power. One of them, Chase Bank, has publicly apologized for its support of Hitler, but where today’s hate politics are concerned, MI does not seem so forgiving. They sponsored eugenics projects, most notably the pro-eugenics book The Bell Curve, a best-selling book that proposed the idea that blacks are mentally inferior. On one website, it is noted that while the Manhattan Institute does not publicly advocate mass extermination or mass relocation of minorities the policies it does promote are mostly about targeting black and Latino inner city populations in such a way as to make relocation an attractive option and elimination a day to day reality. It should be noted that they were responsible for Giuliani’s campaign for mayor, and his abandoned 1999 senatorial campaign, both of which faced strong opposition by the African American community. They were also involved with President Bush’s 2000 presidential bid, which also found itself on the bad side of African Americans, especially at the end. <br />
<br />
So this was fertile ground for MacDonald, who said she started writing by addressing what she saw were “academic problems”. In particular, she was pissed about what she saw as universities being overrun by a “know-nothing” attack on western culture. And by “know-nothing” we don’t mean the anti-immigration nativist campaigns of the 19th Century. She would have loved that. She was on some other shit with that term. “You have now students refusing to read the great books if their authors don’t match their own ethnicity or gender – and their professors that they have are often fueling the stupid identity politics,” she said, bringing in the common tactic among conservatives of indirectly attacking a group or individual by blaming the universities, media, government, etc. for a given problem. In fact, this is a tactic she leans on like a crutch. <br />
<br />
By the way, MacDonald served on Mayor Giuliani’s task force on CUNY. On the aforementioned C-SPAN program she was on, one caller noted another tactic common among your more far right figures. MacDonald is taking her ideology and passing it off as social science. It is why her conclusions on various issues never seem to correspond with reality. For one thing, she does not believe that racial profiling exists, a theme she began in 2001 just after the Cincinnati uprising after Timothy Thomas, a 19-year-old African American boy with no criminal record and no weapon was murdered by a police officer. Her contention is that “civil libertarians” are furthering the notion that police arrest based on the population ratio, and to that end they have concocted this notion of racial profiling. As every conservative must, she also blames the press for creating the notion as well. Never mind the fact that it was the police officers themselves that have been saying they practiced it, particularly former New Jersey State Police Chief Carl Williams who lost his job after he gave an interview to a newspaper and said that they did. She not only forgets this, but basically ignores the number of complaints that African Americans have filed regarding this, some even calling the C-SPAN program. One of those callers was stopped 31 times. <br />
<br />
On a Fox News program in 2001 when she first mentioned her so-called “study” on the issue, the person she was debating correctly slammed it as “junk science”. Here’s the funny part: MacDonald supports racial profiling. She says she does, not for African Americans, who have made it an unpopular stance to take, but for dealing with terrorists, or to be more precise, Muslims, an area where racial profiling has had a lot of support. This thing about her stance on racial profiling brings up what is her regular M.O. It’s a rather insulting one if you notice it, and notice it you will. Her thing is to either disparage a practice if it benefits people she finds objectionable or if it adversely affects them, deny it is happening. <br />
<br />
But she will then flip the script and endorse it to her ends, which is always in an adverse way to the aforementioned people she finds objectionable! She for example decries what she calls identity politics when it means people of color or women are going to be represented positively in certain professions or in culture in general, “Identity-politics tribalism denies the role of reason and ideas in forming individuals’ world views; instead, gonads and melanin reign supreme.” she once wrote despite the fact that she uses identity politics to say, while dismissing charges of racism in policing communities of color and looking instead at high crime and violence rates in those communities as the real problem, “The most powerful antidote to this violence would be to ensure that more black children were raised by both their father and their mother. No other ethnic or racial group suffers from family breakdown to the same degree.” So it’s not that she doesn’t like identity politics. She doesn’t like it when it works for us and not her. <br />
<br />
Her columns, quite frankly, are for the record books. To read them, one would have to conclude that she is a) in complete denial of the truth, b) a hopeless fanatic who needs to spin the truth to conform to her worldview, c) incredibly stupid, or d) all of the above. <br />
<br />
There are way too many examples of this to list here, but in doing this entry and looking at her columns, one just leaped out at us. In referring to the INS detainees that have been rounded up and held in jails across the country without any charges filed against them, MacDonald said that it was only “a mere 1,200 men – a minute fraction of the Muslim and Arab population in America”. Those detentions do not bother MacDonald because she feels it “may have averted at least two more attacks” according to someone she says is an “expert” on Al Queda at St. Andrews University. We bet that if 1,200 white men were rounded up the same way, the argument that it might have averted bombings of abortion clinics might not work with her. She would even probably call that racist. Food for thought, Heather. <br />
<br />
Given the above, it should not be any surprise that MacDonald is a supporter of the Patriot Act. She received more than an earful when at the 13th annual Computers, Freedom and Privacy conference in New York in April 2003, she defended the Pentagon’s proposed Total Information Awareness System, which would be a massive database of information on every American including credit card, medical school and travel records. Of course given what we at OPP do here, it is in many ways quite welcome that MacDonald feels this way. On the website Slashdot, a poster suggested this to her:<br />

I say if Ms. MacDonald believes concerns about privacy are outdated and only the concern of Luddites, then I say she ought to lead by example. I hearby make a public calling to Ms. MacDonald to immediately do all of the following to prove to us that privacy shouldn’t be an issue: <br />
* Make available all her credit card numbers, PINs, bank account numbers, and all personal financial information, including bank statements and both personal and professional tax information. <br />
* Make available to the public all financial statements, receipts and information concerning purchases she has made. <br />
* Make available for public viewing all personal correspondences via all mediums (i.e., email, written, phone, etc.) <br />
* Make available all passwords to her Internet accounts and online services. <br />
* Make available all professional exchanges between herself and her clients as well as those of others in her field and those with whom she does other business. <br />
* Make available for public viewing all personal journals and/or diaries as well as any personal records pertaining to herself or her family members (i.e., birth certificates, medical records, etc.) <br />
* Install 24-hour Web cams in her home, business or place or work and in any other places she spends significant time; of course, we expect that since privacy is not a concern, all personal moments in the bedroom and bathrooms will be freely available in an uncensored form. <br />
* Leave the locks on the doors of her home, car, business and elsewhere (including safes and other contained personal belongings) unlocked and available to the general public. <br />
I’m sure there are other items and areas I have forgotten, but since Ms. MacDonald seems to willing to give up privacy in favor of protection from a world full of terrorists, I bet she will happily accommodate any further requests in the future. So, Ms. MacDonald… lead the way. Lead by example. Show us poor, befuddled, unwashed Luddites the way out of our backward thinking about privacy and basic human rights, We’ll be right behind you too because it’s painfully obvious to us that an attorney with links to a conservative think-tank who feels the need to swipe aside our basic rights could have nothing but the best of intentions for us.<br />

MacDonald’s book quickly fell off the radar screen and after the Book Expo, not much of it or her was heard from. In fact, the revision to this entry was done on Halloween 2004, and she has been pretty much nonexistent on the scene. She is back however. Imagine if you will a top employee to Al Sharpton, let’s say the Executive Director of his National Acton Network, getting drunk, seeing a white woman and calling her a racial slur before assaulting her. How much would the conservatives and liberals raise holy hell over it? How long do you think it would be before it hit the airwaves, and if it took too long, how many times would you hear complaints about a liberal media suppressing the information? How many demands would there be on Rev. Sharpton to answer for it, and if he didn’t how much would his detractors assail him for it? Finally what if this person’s activism included pushing a black supremacist platform – even if this person isn’t black himself? In this entry, we focus our attention to the someone who fits that bill with a few exceptions. He doesn’t work for Sharpton or push for a black supremacist agenda. He works for Pat and Bay Buchanan as well as ex-Congressman Tom Tancredo. And for a while we have been calling him the man who seems to be vying for the World’s Second Darkest White Supremacist (Michelle Malkin will always have the top spot), with good bloody reason.<br />

His name is Marcus Epstein and he runs with the same paleoconservative crowd Malkin courts every now and then. That means whenever he is in a room with them, he is counting among his colleagues members of not just the Council of Conservative Citizens, but full-on neo-Nazis from groups like the National Alliance (yeah, they are still doing their damndest to be relevant again). Epstein’s father is Jewish and his mother is Korean, which means he lacks that Aryan white blood that one would expect to find in idiots who diligently work for neo-Nazi type racists who so dearly hate his heritage and want eliminate his kind off the face of the earth. Somehow this is not a problem to the Buchanans who made him the Executive Director of the American Cause, the paleoconservative outfit Pat Buchanan founded in 1993. It is also no issue for Tom Tancredo’s Team America PAC, where he holds the same title. It’s definitely no problem for us, because whenever he shows up anywhere, it makes our job a lot easier because he is hanging out with folks who have some sort of power in the mainstream. If you are one of these people, your credibility is shot if Marcus Epstein is around.<br />

This brings us to what we were talking about in that hypothetical scenario of one of Al Sharpton’s employees assaulting a white woman, because you can ask Tancredo and the Buchanans about credibility being shot after what Marcus did. See, when President Barack Obama tapped Judge Sonia Sotomayor as his first Supreme Court Nominee, all of them decided to launch into the standard routine whenever a person of color is about to attain a powerful political position – try to convince the public that he or she is an out-of-control racist. The thing that makes the routine on their part a little damning for them is that Marcus Epstein, the guy they keep propping up to defend their racialist interests, plead guilty in 2009 to assaulting an African American woman in what was deemed a hate crime committed almost two years prior. The hypocrisy makes them all look stupid, particularly considering at the time of this writing Pat Buchanan and Former Congressman Tom Tancredo justfy how he is still in their employ, although Bay Buchanan gave it a shot in an op-ed piece defending him for the conservative newspaper Human Events that was so bad the majority of those posting comments on the paper’s website overwhelmingly went against her.<br />

No one said jack about the incident for two years, but then along comes little ol’ us. When One People’s Project dug this little chestnut up and reported it in May 2009, all hell broke loose. First DC Indymedia featured the story on its page, then the libertarian blog Little Green Footballs picked it up. Soon left-wing liberal blogs were ablaze with the information, and eventually it made its way to MSNBC, CNN the New York Times and so on (but not Fox News, interestingly enough).<br />

This was indeed a rather important story. For decades, no matter how obvious they are otherwise, conservatives will deny that they are promoting racist politics. This was the first time their culpability in hate politics could not be denied, which is not to say they weren’t still trying. This story is hard to find on conservative blogs – if it is there at all – and not one conservative outlet on television, radio or newspaper is even talking about it at this point. As noted before however, the left wing blogs and some mainstream media are talking it up big time, and to go back to how we led off this entry, the main question has been how could any conservative defend this clown, let alone put him in prominent position despite knowing that he was damaged goods in the worst way?<br />

And it isn’t like he is in the shadows either. Marcus has been on the radar screen for a while now and he made his most prominent move early in 2009, when he along with members of a right-wing youth activist training outfit called the Leadership Institute started a group called Youth for Western Civilization. It was a vile, vile group whose members focus is, as their site maintains, to “educate, organize and train activists on campuses across the nation to create a culture that will promote the survival of Western Civilization and pride in Western heritage.” Apparently, that culture had to be a White Supremacist one, since that circle was what made up its members. They tried to play coy with it for the three years that it was on the scene, and chapters have sprung up at various universities, and along with them protests against any activities from the group, including one that chased Tom Tancredo from the University of North Carolina. It eventually all fell apart thanks to Towson University YWC Chapter president Matthew Heimbach who didn’t keep his Nazism hidden and in effect gave away the store for not only his chapter but the organization overall. People started avoiding the group like the plague and eventually it shuttered.<br />
<br />
And we know, we know. What so wrong about pride in Western heritage, right? Well, nothing, but when someone has a track record like Epstein’s one should have been suspect about other things he wishes to further. YWC apparently is – they deny he helped found the organization.<br />
<br />
Marcus graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. In addition to his American Cause and Team American PAC gigs, he’s worked for right-wing outfits like the Leadership Institute, and founded the paleoconservative Robert Taft Club. He was a writer for right-wing hate organizations and websites such as infamously recognized white supremacist hatesite VDare, American Conservative, and LewRockwell.com. All of these organizations are related to each other by supporting similar right-wing fascists and spreading their agenda of taunting hatred and racism. As a leader and organizer for these right-wing organizations, he has provided opportunities for his notorious fascist friends like American Renaissance’s Jared Taylor, Washington Times editor Robert Stacy McCain, and National Review’s John Derbyshire to express their similar hatred and make a living. Marcus Epstein’s deep affiliation with these hate group members have drawn the attention of many anti-racist groups like Southern Poverty Law Center, often receiving warning messages for his indulgence with recognized hate groups and members. One event was supposed to be held at the Leadership Institute’s building, but word got around that OPP might attend, someone panicked, and told them to take the event elsewhere, which ended up being a building at the Georgetown University Law School. Michelle Miller, the Director of Communications at the Leadership Institute, distanced the organization from the event, saying that they did not sign off on it and did not allow it to be held at their building one they found out about it. She also said that Epstein was just an intern there and only worked for them during the summer of 2006.<br />

When Marcus isn’t busy supporting these Hitler-like dirtbags, he often writes similar hateful and racist material, primarily through VDare. In numerous VDare and neocon articles, Marcus follows the footpath of his predecessors by viciously attacking immigrants (as long as they are not white), Hispanics, Blacks, and anyone else who is not a right-wing white male with lies, shoddy research, and hatred.<br />

It was in March 2007, a few months after the event Marcus though he would have at the Leadership Institute, when we caught up to him for the first time. He boasted how a month prior he and his friend Luke Pelican attended the 2007 National Conference on Organized Resistance (NCOR), an annual gathering at American University of progressives, mostly anarchists and environmentalists. It is open to the public, and folks already knew about the right crying about NCOR already but when it indeed comes to folks who want to participate to spy or cause some other trouble, it’s good to know who to look out for. Epstein and Pelican were not the only right-wingers there (one other pretty much got chased out of there when he started antagonizing folks), but since Epstein wanted to boast about his attendance to us, especially since he is a person of color who likes white supremacists, we thought it would be best to profile him on general principle.<br />
<br />
But what’s up with a person promoting white supremacy who doesn’t exactly have a horse in that race (no pun intended)? For that we should turn to what he once posted in 2003 on a weblog titled “View from the Right”:<br />

“While I don’t consider myself to be a White Nationalist (I am half Korean), I do hold a Darwinian-Galtonian view of racial differences, believe strongly in restoring Western Civilization, and am agnostic in religious matters, so this letter seems to apply to me. I agree with (17th Century Jesuit scholar Baltasar Gracián y Morales) that one can recognize that Christianity was important in the developing the West without believing in Christiantiy (sic).”<br />

“Most people are not philosophers and rely on the mythical to develope (sic) their moral codes. Christiantiy (sic) has served the West well, not necessarily because it is true or that God gave his blessing to the West, but because of the values that it promotes. I think one does not have to embrace the scriptures to love the west, but they need to recognize the generally positive influence it has. Certainly one can not be vehemently anti-Chriatian (sic) and pro-West.”<br />

“Christianity is not perfect in the values it promotes. In Multiculturalism and the politics of Guilt. (Paleoconservative professor from Elizabethtown College) Paul Gottfried comes up with some aspects of Christianity that have led to the current mess we are in. Nonetheless, it is true that Christianity has existed for over a thousand years without being intertwined with the multiculturalist dogma. The ‘We Shall Overcome’ Christianity is more a symptom of the Decline of the West rather than the disease.”<br />

There isn’t any need to recap all the trash this young piece of trash spews out because it would require a landfill for that. It eventually all fell apart thanks to Towson University YWC Chapter president Matthew Heimbach who didn’t keep his Nazism hidden and in effect gave away the store for not only his chapter but the organization overall. People started avoiding the group like the plague and eventually it shuttered.<br />

And we know, we know. What so wrong about pride in Western heritage, right? Well, nothing, but when someone has a track record like Epstein’s one should have been suspect about other things he wishes to further. YWC apparently is – they deny he helped found the organization.<br />
<br />
Marcus graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. In addition to his American Cause and Team American PAC gigs, he’s worked for right-wing outfits like the Leadership Institute, and founded the paleoconservative Robert Taft Club. He was a writer for right-wing hate organizations and websites such as infamously recognized white supremacist hatesite VDare, American Conservative, and LewRockwell.com. All of these organizations are related to each other by supporting similar right-wing fascists and spreading their agenda of taunting hatred and racism. As a leader and organizer for these right-wing organizations, he has provided opportunities for his notorious fascist friends like American Renaissance’s Jared Taylor, Washington Times editor Robert Stacy McCain, and National Review’s John Derbyshire to express their similar hatred and make a living. Marcus Epstein’s deep affiliation with these hate group members have drawn the attention of many anti-racist groups like Southern Poverty Law Center, often receiving warning messages for his indulgence with recognized hate groups and members. One event was supposed to be held at the Leadership Institute’s building, but word got around that OPP might attend, someone panicked, and told them to take the event elsewhere, which ended up being a building at the Georgetown University Law School. Michelle Miller, the Director of Communications at the Leadership Institute, distanced the organization from the event, saying that they did not sign off on it and did not allow it to be held at their building one they found out about it. She also said that Epstein was just an intern there and only worked for them during the summer of 2006.<br />

When Marcus isn’t busy supporting these Hitler-like dirtbags, he often writes similar hateful and racist material, primarily through VDare. In numerous VDare and neocon articles, Marcus follows the footpath of his predecessors by viciously attacking immigrants (as long as they are not white), Hispanics, Blacks, and anyone else who is not a right-wing white male with lies, shoddy research, and hatred.<br />

It was in March 2007, a few months after the event Marcus though he would have at the Leadership Institute, when we caught up to him for the first time. He boasted how a month prior he and his friend Luke Pelican attended the 2007 National Conference on Organized Resistance (NCOR), an annual gathering at American University of progressives, mostly anarchists and environmentalists. It is open to the public, and folks already knew about the right crying about NCOR already but when it indeed comes to folks who want to participate to spy or cause some other trouble, it’s good to know who to look out for. Epstein and Pelican were not the only right-wingers there (one other pretty much got chased out of there when he started antagonizing folks), but since Epstein wanted to boast about his attendance to us, especially since he is a person of color who likes white supremacists, we thought it would be best to profile him on general principle.<br />

But what’s up with a person promoting white supremacy who doesn’t exactly have a horse in that race (no pun intended)? For that we should turn to what he once posted in 2003 on a weblog titled “View from the Right”:<br />

The ‘We Shall Overcome’ Christianity is more a symptom of the Decline of the West rather than the disease.”<br />

There isn’t any need to recap all the trash this young piece of trash spews out because it would require a landfill for that. Marcus Epstein is certainly a heinous right-wing fascist and racist nimrod who continues to draw the negative attention of the public form his hatred and stupidity. At 26, he is foolishly making a mistake following a dead-end career of lies, hypocrisy, hatred, and backstabbing that is inherent among his ranks. And now that he is forever marked as someone who will go that extra mile and physically assault people, there aren’t too many avenues he has left Let this be a lesson to you college graduates who think you may have a career in the hate industry – there is no future in it for Marcus, so don’t expect one for you.<br />

<div>Here are compiled lists of just some of the far-right/racist activists that we struggle against these days. Started in 1997 on another website, we felt those that attempted to camouflage their racism in fine-sounding words were a greater threat – as we have seen – often they receive patronage from mainstream politicians. Eventually, we started to see pretty much all the hatemongers we deal with trying to hide their agenda from all of us. Their worst nightmare is exposure, and that is why they have consistently attempted to drive us off the Web. They will learn, however, the truth is not so easily subdued.<br />
<br />
Over the years there have been a number of people who have submitted people for consideration for these ranks, as well as those who felt that we were lumping everyone in the same category. Let us answer the last point first because we actually are doing that in a sense. We do feel that everyone in the Gallery is entwined in certain ways, and when it is apparent to us, we make it known. We do however, recognize that some people in the Gallery do not roll in the same way as others, or simply are not as bad. Those who visit the Gallery will simply have to read the entry to understand our concerns with a certain person.<br />

We were originally going to categorize people with however they are affiliated. For example, Jesse Lee Peterson would have been in a Black Conservative category, Richard Spencer would be in a White supremacist category, etc. The problem we found was that so many of the persons in the gallery have a number of categories they could possibly fit in, while some may not be easy to categorize. We decided on simply listing them by alphabetical order and let the reader decide for themselves where they belong. Of course, we do have some idiots you don’t see that this is what we done. When he had an entry, the ever-entertaining and currently incarcerated Bill White for example, cried a lot about being on a page with Paul Weyrich, the late founder of the Free Congress Foundation, and neo-Nazi Steve “Micetrap” Wiegand. Folks, it was the “W” page. Like we said, Mr. White had definitely been a great source of entertainment for us!<br />
<br />
As for the first point, there are a few reasons why some are on while others are not. For one, we simply might not have written an entry on them yet. We are particularly short handed and there is a huge backlog of not only new entries but revisions to old ones that we have not been able to get to. If you know of people that should be included and would like to write the entry for them, first contact us here and mention this to us. If it is someone that we think should be in the Gallery, we will give you the green light. We will need a picture of that person, plus the text. Give us time as we will need to confirm all facts before it is posted. Once it is, we will credit the writer on the entry and if there is a link or contact information you wish to provide, we will add that too. There may be some editing to conform to how we present things, but no changes are done without consulting the writer.<br />

Another reason for not having a certain person “galleried” is because we haven’t finished our research on them. When we get submissions, we have to make certain everything that is said about the person is accurate or can be referenced. We don’t want to be a party to any smearing or slandering of a person. We are not calling anyone a Nazi just because someone stole someone else’s girlfriend. Now if a Nazi did in fact stole someone’s girlfriend and that person wants to provide truthful information that is relevant to what we do here, that’s fine.<br />
<br />
The third reason, and a very important thing to consider, as to why some folks are not in the Gallery is because we simply do not feel they should be. It may be because we do not consider them relevant (that comes when we don’t hear about a person in a number of years), we feel we need to take another approach with them because of mutual associations (just because they are bad doesn’t make them all bad or means they are associated with bad things all the time), or we just plain ol’ support them. These are judgment calls on our part, and if you disagree, we are willing to hear you out. We have been wrong before, so speak up if you think we need to add someone, or even take someone down.<br />

Finally we must make this point clear. None of this information should ever be used to engage in any criminal activity against that person. There is no reason to be like the scum you will see. Keep yourself on the higher ground, and take in this information responsibly.<br />
