We have given Bauer the pet name of the "Gerber Baby" because he looks like a grown-up version of the baby food logo (which is funny considering rumors have her being a lesbian in her adult life - Bauer hates lesbians). This guy is a little more than that, truthfully.
He runs the Campaign for Working Families (CWF) and one of the biggest Religious Reich characters going. A fundraising letter for the CWF indicates how bad he is when he touts the organization as "virtually the only organization willing to take on the 'gay rights' establishment," going on to rant about how American families are being destroyed by some mysterious powerful gay agenda. In recent days, he has been seen whining about same-sex marriages and how they are an abomination and what not.
In May 2018, Pretender-to-the-Presidency Donald Trump appointed Bauer to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.
Bauer staged a failed run for the Presidency in 2000, but Bush's selection as President meant an increased attack in the mainstream on the constitutional rights of people Bauer disagrees with. For the most part, Bauer has been seen only as a talking head on talk shows these days, and only on a very minimal basis, but watch this clown carefully regardless. He might get antsy.
